Obituary: Robert McNamara

We are sorry to report Bob McNamara's death yesterday. He was just a lovely man. His obituary follows:

Robert P. McNamara died Wednesday, March 23, at age 87.
A lifelong resident of Hull, Mr. McNamara was the owner and operator of the former Neal’s Service Station. He enjoyed following New England sports teams and was a member of the Hull Knights of Columbus. 
The foundation of his life was his family; they were the cornerstone of all that was truly important to him. He will be sadly missed. 
The beloved husband of Ida Fagone-McNamara of Hull and the late Elinor K. [Welsh] McNamara; he was the loving father of Ann McNamara and her husband, Walter Keenan, of South Boston, Patricia Spitz and her husband, Kurt, of Hull, and Robin Mannion and her husband, Andrew, of Dedham; the stepfather of Annette Agostino and her husband, Vincent, and Lisa Fagone and her husband, Robert Hatch, all of Hull. Mr. McNamara also leaves his brother, Joseph W. “Bill” McNamara and his wife Marjorie, of Hull; 12 grandchildren; and a great grandson. He was predeceased by his brother, George McNamara.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, 4-8 p.m., at Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., Hingham. A Celebration of Life service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, prior to a funeral Mass at St. Ann’s Church in Hull at 10 a.m. Burial will follow, at Hull Village Cemetery.
