/Gayann Wilkinson, 79
Gayann (“Gram”) Wilkinson, a 22-year resident of Hull, died on July 9 at the age of 79.
She was the beloved spouse of William L. Wilkinson Jr. for 60 years and the dear daughter of Herbert and Connie (Williams) Bauer. She was the loving mother of Mary Wilkinson, of Hull; Wendy Bretton and husband, Gary, of Bridgton, Maine; William Wilkinson III, of Dorchester; and Christopher Wilkinson, of West Virginia.
She was also the proud grandmother of Mary V. Wilkinson, of Hull; William Wilkinson IV and his partner, Nicole Grady, of Braintree; David and Chloe Falkinson of Ghent, Va.; Alanna Donahue and her fiancée, Tim Caulfield, of Hyde Park; Emmet and Aidan Wilkinson, of Dorchester; Peter Bretton and his wife, Gabby, of Pawtucket, R.I.; Christopher, Cole, and Catelyn Rose Wilkinson, of Methuen; and Sara Gay (Bretton) and husband, Ian MacDonald, of Bucksport, Maine, the proud parents of Gram’s two great-grandchildren, Kellen and Aurora Gay MacDonald.
She was a sister of David Bauer and his wife, Peggy, of Bellingham; Sandy Trufant, of Medway; and the late Robert Bauer.
Gayann lived her life first as a welder at the Fore River Shipyard and a member of the Local 7 Ironworkers, then as the apprentice coordinator for the state of Massachusetts. She worked 30-plus years before retiring, only to bless her community as a member of St. Ann’s Bell Ringers and Women in Building Trades and as a library trustee for the town of Hull. She was also a member of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Gayann will be sorely missed.
Visiting hours were held on Sunday, July 14, at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham.
