Obituary: Rita A. MacDonald

Rita A. MacDonald, at 86
Rita Ann [Tomassetti] MacDonald, 86, of Marshfield and Hull, died peacefully during the early morning hours Jan. 11, at Alliance Healthcare in Braintree, surrounded by the love, comfort, and care of her family.
Mrs. MacDonald was a talented chef and had managed the cafeteria at the Hingham Courthouse for more than 20 years. Later, she ran food-service operations for the former Star of David Nursing Home in West Roxbury, and also worked in that same capacity at Queen Anne Nursing Home in Hingham for many years.
She was the devoted wife of the late Gerald A. MacDonald and the loving mother of Geralynne “Gerri” Spinale and her husband, Joe, of Plymouth, Theresa Dyer and her husband, James, of Sagamore Beach, Betty Massamino and her husband, Joe, of Seattle, Linda Dyer and her husband, Billy, of Abington, the late Tony MacDonald and his wife, Rae, of Florida, Fred MacDonald of Marshfield, and Rita A. MacDonald of Quincy. Mrs. MacDonald also is survived by 17 cherished grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, extended family, and good friends.
