Richard A. Miller. Jr., at 62

Hull Light Plant Operations Manager Richard “Dick” A. Miller, Jr. died June 24, after a long illness. He was 62.

Mr. Miller grew up in Weymouth and Hull. He worked as a journeyman lineman for Local #104, IBEW, and more recently as the Hull Municipal Light Plant operations manager.

An avid reader, he also enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening, woodworking, music, and golf. He cherished his family and nothing was more important in his life than his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his quick wit, his strong work ethic, and for always being the champion for the underdog. He was a friend of Bill W. 

The beloved husband of Michele [Devlin] Miller of Hull; loving father of Julie Morris and her husband, Kevin, of Barrington, N.H., Jeanne Miller and her companion, Michael Silva, of Hull, Kevin Miller and his wife, Kerri, of Hull, Kathryn Miller and her companion, Richard Minichello, of Everett; he was the stepfather of Jennifer Minghella of Hull. Mr. Miller also leaves his siblings: John Miller of Hanover, Carol Walsh of Wareham, Deborah Casey of Cohasset, Jeffery Miller of Whitman, Daniel Miller of Maine, and Donna Cotoulas of Hull; an aunt, Carol Rennie of Weymouth; and a dear friend, Kathy Doyle Tilden of Weymouth. He was the cherished grandfather of Cassidy, Arieanna, Annabelle, Julia, Emmett, Joshua, Caroline, Christian, Chase, and Richard Isaac. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mr. Miller’s funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. today [Thursday] at St. John the Evangelist Church, Hingham. His burial will follow, at Hull Village Cemetery.
