Obituary: Milton Fishman

Milton Fishman, at 84
Milton Fishman died quietly, surrounded by his family, on Dec. 21. He was 84.
He was the youngest of 11 children of Henry and Mary Fishman, and is survived by his two sisters: Sylvia Katler and Sarah Fine.
Mr. Fishman was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and thereafter worked until retirement at various naval shipyards.
His passion outside of his family included participation in the daily morning services at Temple Beth Sholom.
He was well recognized around town as he and his sister Sarah used to walk every day, saying hello to neighbors and providing dog treats to their furry friends. Anyone who knew him understood his love for cats, as evidenced by his many cat shirts.
Mr. Fishman is survived by his wife of 61 years and the love of his life, Rosalie [Sohn] Fishman. They had five children: Mitchell and his wife Sharyn of Hull and Canton, Marcia and Paul Rymaszewski of Hull, Daniel and Betsy of Framingham, Michael and Annie of Rockwall, Texas, and the late Merry Short.
Mr. Fishman’s joy were his eight grandchildren:  Rachel, Matthew, and Melissa Rymaszewski, Ahron, Noah, and Emma Fishman, and Maya and Sydney Fishman.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 23 at 9:30 a.m. at Stanetsky Memorial Chapels, 475 Washington St., Canton.  Interment will follow, at Ohavi Sedeck Cemetery on Grove Street, West Roxbury.
Memorial observance will be held at the home of Mitchell and Sharyn Fishman on Sunday from 3-8 p.m. and Monday from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m., and at the home of Marcia and Paul Rymaszewski, Tuesday and Wednesday, also from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m.  Expressions of sympathy in Mr. Fishman’s memory may be made to Temple Beth Sholom, 600 Nantasket Ave., Hull, MA 02045 or to the charity of your choice.  For online condolences, please visit www.stanetsky.com.
