Adrienne Wisehart, at 65

Adrienne [Wight] Wisehart, 65, of Hull, died peacefully April 28, after a brief illness.

She is survived by two children, Suzanne Wisehart of Hull and Thomas Wisehart Jr. of Weymouth; a daughter in law, Kristen Wisehart; a stepson, Mark Towne of Brockton; a sister Suzanne Albert and her husband, Robert, of Syracuse; and six grandchildren.

Mrs. Wisehart will be deeply missed. A special thank you to Hospice of the South Shore nurses.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, May 7, at Community Baptist Church, 17 Mutton Lane, East Weymouth, from 1-4 p.m.

Obituary: Bette Wellman

Bette Wellman, at 84

Bette [Schaller] Wellman of Kingston, formerly of Braintree, Hull, and Quincy, died April 28, at the age of 84.

She was the associate director at 1000 Southern Artery Senior Center in Quincy for 17 years and then was a self-employed travel agent for 20 years, escorting groups to destinations around the world. She traveled to six of the seven continents and was a passenger on 53 cruises. Travel was her passion and she shared many exciting stories about her experiences.

Mrs. Wellman served on several boards and committees through the years, at Quincy Point Congregational Church and Old South Union Church in South Weymouth. She was an animal lover and was a member of the board of directors at the South Shore Humane Society. More recently, she volunteered at the Kingston Council on Aging.

She skied for 45 years, loved boating, was an avid reader, and a great party/event planner. Her friends were many and of all ages. Above all, she treasured family get-togethers. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a loyal friend, full of fun, and willing to try anything.

She was married to the love of her life, Robert H. Wellman, for 57 years. He died in 2010. She is survived by her children, Louise Morrill of Florida, and Debbie Juckett and her husband, Mark, of Bourne; her grandchildren, Gretchen Kelley, Jennifer Ulland, Wendy Manno, Scott Morrill, Ryan Juckett, and Steven Juckett; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Hatch and her husband, Harold, of Weymouth; and her nieces and nephews, Linda, Jack, Stephen and Christine. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Robert Morrill Jr.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Newfield House and Cranberry Hospice in Plymouth for the compassionate care given in the last week of her life.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held Friday, May 6, at 2 p.m., at the Old South Union Church, 25 Columbian St., South Weymouth. Burial will be private.

Obituary: Joshua N. McBride

Joshua N. McBride, at 33

Joshua Nicholl McBride of Hull died April 30 at age 33.

Mr. McBride lived his life between Hull and Hawaii. He worked at both South Shore Hospital and as a teamster with Local 25. He was an avid New England sports fan. His love of sports started at a young age, as an athlete who excelled with promise in both basketball and football.

He was a proud and devoted father. He will be remembered for his quiet yet magnetic personality, captivating smile, and compassion.

Beloved son of Robert and Mé [Maeva] McBride of Hull; devoted father of Braden and Malaya McBride; loving brother of Jerome McBride and his wife, Melissa, of Boston, Hannah McBride and her partner, Marlon Fraser, and Melody McBride; uncle of Jayden, Elijah, and Sadie. Mr. McBride was the cherished grandson of Patricia McBride of Hull and Taoso Maeva of American Samoa; nephew of Drusilla Saumalu of Hull, John McBride and his wife, Lynda, of Hull, Keri-Lynn McBride of Santa Fe, and Rasela Mataia, Vau Maeva, Kepi Maeva, and Lemuta Leuta. The loving cousin of Amanda and Haley McBride; Mr. McBride also is survived by many extended family members and friends.

Mirna Clark, at 63

Mirna (Gonzalez) Clark, formerly of Boston, a longtime Hull resident, died at her home April 30. She was 63.

Mrs. Clark worked at Brigham & Women’s Hospital prior to her retirement.

She leaves her beloved husband, George Clark, Jr., and five wonderful children.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 6, at 10 a.m. from the Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 800 Columbia Rd., Dorchester. Visiting with family will also be held on Friday, from 9-10 a.m., at the church.

Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery, Boston.

Obituary: Patrick Patuto

Patrick Patuto, at 91

Patrick Patuto, age 91, died April 15.  

Mr. Patuto was an Army veteran, a tech corporal who served in World War II under Gen. George S. Patton. Mr. Patuto defended his country during the Normandy invasion and took part in various other battles in Northern France and throughout Europe, earning several awards for his service. 

He and his wife lived in Dedham, where they started a family before moving to Hull in 1971. Mr. Patuto was a truck driver and an active member of Teamsters Union Local 25 for more than 50 years.  After his retirement, he started a lawn care company and continued working up until three years ago. He also volunteered many countless hours to the town, including at the Scully Senior Center, voting polls, and for the Share program.

He loved the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, boating, and gardening. Mr. Patuto also was passionate about maintaining his home and property; he was the ultimate handyman and jack-of-all-trades.  His true treasure in life was his family. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. 

Beloved husband of 61 years of Diana L. [Ianessa] Patuto; loving father of Deborah Blackett and her husband, Stephen, of Vermont, Patricia Patuto and Patrick Patuto Jr., both of Hull; cherished grandfather of Ronald, Ariel, Patrick, and Felicia; and great grandfather of Isabel; he was the brother of the late Bernice, Sam, and Tony. He also is survived by extended family and many friends.

Visiting hours will be Sunday, 2-6 p.m., in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., Hingham. A Celebration of Life service will be held in the funeral home at 9 a.m. Monday prior to the funeral Mass at St. Ann’s Church, Hull at 10 a.m. Burial will take at the National Cemetery at Bourne at 1:30 p.m.

Obituary: Arlene F. Nee

Arlene F. Nee, at 79

Arlene F. [Sullivan] Nee, of Hull, died April 12 at the age of 79.

Born in East Boston and raised in South Boston, she attended Cardinal Cushing High School. A homemaker and devout mother of five boys, she also worked as a Boston school crossing guard in the early 1970s and helped establish libraries at the Emily A. Fifield and Woodrow Wilson schools in Dorchester as a volunteer. While serving as business representative at New England Telephone and later Verizon, she earned a B.S. degree in business administration from Boston College in 1993. She retired in 1999 and settled in Hull, where she kept in close contact with her seven grandchildren and one great grandchild while admiring her precious view of Boston Lighthouse.

Loving mother of Michael J. Nee of Dorchester, Martin A. Nee (Helena) of Cohasset, Stephen J. Nee of Marshfield, Daniel K. Nee of Hull, and the late Francis L. Nee; dear grandmother of Ashley Nee, Gunnar and Lisel Nee, Sabrina and Liam Nee, Martin A. Nee, and the late April E. Nee. Mrs. Nee also leaves her siblings: Lawrence Sullivan of Malden, Paul Sullivan of Florida, Joseph Sullivan of Bourne; and a daughter in law, Grace Nee. She was formerly married to Peter F. Nee.

Her funeral Mass will be held Saturday at noon at St. Ann’s Church, 208 Samoset Ave., Hull. Interment will be at Hull Village Cemetery.

Tiersa K. Horan of Winthrop, 41, died unexpectedly April 10.

Beloved daughter of Judith Bouldin of Hull and the late Dr. John J. Horan; loving sister of Lea M. Horan and Ragin K. Horan; dearest love of Edward McLean of Winthrop; she is lovingly survived by many relatives and friends. Her dog, Sammy, will miss her love and companionship.

Kenneth J. Clark, at 79

Hull resident Kenneth J. Clark, 79, died April 16, following a long illness.

He served his country honorably in the US Army in the 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper. Mr. Clark was a hairdresser for 50 years and the owner of Supercuts by Kenneth in Hull. His family was his pride and joy, especially when he was surrounded by all of his girls. In his free time, Mr. Clark enjoyed gardening and took pride in his yard. He was an avid reader.

Survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Nancy [Loiacono] Clark; father of Cynthia Phillips of East Bridgewater, Terri-Lynn Clark of South Weymouth, Kristina Wilkinson of Quincy and Christopher Clark of Centerville; he was the brother of Rev. Robert J. Clark SSG, Paul Clark, John Clark, Mary Clark, the late Stevie Clark, and late Kathleen Smith; and the grandfather of Ryan Clark, Jason Phillips, Madison Kajunski, Christanie Channell, and Kyle Clark.

Yolanda E. Galvin, at 102

Yolanda E. [Cordaro] Galvin of Hingham, formerly of Hull, died April 13. She was 102.

Mrs. Galvin thoroughly enjoyed her job as the administrative assistant at the U.S. Coast Guard Station in Boston for over 20 years. A civic-minded woman, Mrs. Galvin was president of the Hingham Women’s Club, active in the AARP, Hingham senior citizens, and Norwell cable TV. She and her late husband John used to enjoy traveling and attending shows at the Music Circus in Cohasset. She will be remembered as a loving, generous, hardworking, and selfless person, who was always willing to help those in need.

Beloved wife of the late John B. Galvin; loving mother of Elaine F. Player of Weymouth, John W. Galvin of Quincy, and the late Francine B. Palumbo; sister of the late Reno, Arthur, and Joseph Cordaro, Margaret O’Neil, and Josephine Conway. Mrs. Galvin also leaves four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Obituary: Eileen M. Charubini

Eileen M. Charubini, at 77

Eileen M. [Ackers] Charubini, age 77, of Hull, formerly of Dorchester, died April 15, after a long period of declining health.

Mrs. Charubini was a Murray Gold Bar Dancer and taught dance for many years. She was a graduate of UMass, where she earned a master’s degree and certificate of advanced graduate studies. She worked at Spofford Hall in New Hampshire as a social work counselor.

Beloved wife of David J. Charubini Jr.; loving sister of Kathleen Ackers of Hull and the late Roger Ackers; Mrs. Charubini also leaves a large extended family.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, April 22, at 11 a.m. at St. Ann Church, 208 Samoset Ave. Visiting hours will precede Mass, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., at McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 160 So. Main St., Cohasset. Interment will be at Hull Village Cemetery.

Obituary: Frederick A. Beebe

Frederick A. Beebe, at 63

Frederick A. Beebe, of Hull and Charlestown, departed this life on April 17, at age 63.

Mr. Beebe brought a smile to everyone he met. He was gentle and strong, a natural provider and a selfless man. Affectionately called Ricky by his family and friends, he adored his wife Paulette and daughter Tarrah, who was the twinkle in his eye. He made sure to let everyone know how much he cared about them, and was a vessel through which God spread joy and compassion. 

Mr. Beebe was a CPA with a bachelor's degree from Bentley College and an MBA from Boston University. He served multiple roles at the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, most recently as director of audit at the School Building Authority and also as deputy commissioner of the Department of Revenue's Audit Division. He was a mentor to so many in his profession and in life. 

Mr. Beebe celebrated his faith as a Eucharistic minister, teacher, and youth group leader at St Ann's in Hull, and as a grand knight with the Hull chapter of the Knights of Columbus. In his spare time, you could find him up in New Hampshire, taking a sunset cruise on his pontoon boat, “Livin' Lahhge.” To Mr. Beebe, “living large” was cherishing the little things: sending phone hugs, playing Santa Claus, taking care of his loved ones. He was the life of the party, even if that meant doing the cooking and cleaning behind the scenes. 

Mr. Beebe will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but his memory will bring a smile to the faces of all whose lives he touched.

Frederick “Fred” F. Leonard, of Hull, died April 11. He was 76.

Mr. Leonard very much enjoyed working for The Boston Globe as a printer for many years before retiring. He and his wife spent the winters in Florida where they cherished many memories. 

His main passion in life was his family. They were the foundation of his life and most important to him. Mr. Leonard will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

He was the beloved husband of Mary-Jo Leonard [O'Brien] of Hull; and the loving father of Marie and her children Keri, Lauren, and Daniel of Oregon, Fred Jr. and his wife, Helen, and their children Gregory and Benjamin of New Hampshire, and Joseph and his wife, Lynne, and their son Conor of Hull. Cherished Great Grandpa of Jewelia, Seth, and Gregory Jr.; Mr. Leonard is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The son of James B. Murphy Sr. of Hull and Elaine Cieri of Randolph, father of Joseph P. Murphy and his wife Kendall of Rockland, and Kristine Munnis of Weymouth; beloved companion of 25 years of Kathleen Berry of Hull; loving grandfather of Katelyn, Justin, and Ema; brother of Joseph Murphy and his wife Joanne, Julie Murphy, William Murphy and his wife Lori, Lisa Hoban, David Foley, Laurie Foley, Robin Cohen, and Cherri Foley; Mr. Murphy was also an uncle to Jeremy Murphy, Jessica, Jaime, Tayla, and Allyson; Godfather of Jeremy Murphy and Tayla. He is also survived by his aunt Virginia Miraglia, and his former wife Michelle Murphy. He was the grandson of the late Joseph and Julia Cieri and William and Jenny Murphy; nephew of the late Vincent Cieri, Karen Brown Cieri, William and Dorothy Murphy.

Mr. Murphy was a U.S Navy Veteran and worked as an Electricians assistant for many years at Handrahan Electric.

Obituary: Mary M. Lindholm

Mary M. Lindholm, at 93

Mary M. [Governor] Lindholm, of Hull, died July 16 at her home.  She was 93.

Along with her late husband, Robert, Mary called the Boston area home for all her years.  They raised their four children on the South Shore and eventually returned for good to the beach town of Mary's childhood summers. Mrs. Lindholm was born Mar. 9, 1923 in Boston, the oldest of five children to William and Florence [MacQuarrie] Governor.  She was a young girl when the family started summering in Hull.

At Roxbury Memorial High School, she excelled in her coursework, especially French class.  After graduating in 1941, Mary worked for the New England Telephone Co.  It was during this time that things became more serious with “the boy with the platinum blonde hair” she had fallen for back in the third grade.

She wed her soldier during a blizzard on February 8, 1945.  The couple settled into the South Shore with their children, Robert Jr., David, Deborah, and Beverly.  Mrs. Lindholm loved using decor to transform the multiple houses they lived in through the years into homes her family and friends could enjoy.

Over the years, Mrs. Lindholm commuted into Boston where she worked as a Receptionist.  She could often be found shopping the racks of Filene's Basement during her lunch hours.

In retirement, the couple spent their winters in Florida residing in Nalcrest, the letter carriers' retirement community.  After many years of work, Mrs. Lindholm enjoyed days by the pool, bicycling, playing Bingo and continuing to try new recipes.  She also volunteered her time helping the students of the Jacobs School and serving meals at the Anne M. Scully Senior Center, where she was affectionately deemed “Mary Sunshine.”  She fell ill only recently.

Loving mother of Robert Lindholm Jr. and his wife Maureen of Carver, David Lindholm and his wife Karen of Scarborough, ME, Beverly Lindholm Clerkin of Hull, and the late Deborah Rose; dear grandmother (Nana) to 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; beloved sister of Eleanor Areno of Bolivia, NC and the late Albert, William and Charles Governor; she is also survived by and will be greatly missed by many dear nieces, nephews, friends, and Daisy, the dog.

The visitation was scheduled at 9:30 a.m. today at St. Ann’s Church, with a funeral Mass following at 10:30 a.m. Cremation is planned, with remains to be buried at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Obituary: Thomas Joseph Anthony Cibotti, III

Thomas Joseph Anthony Cibotti, III, at 50

Thomas Joseph Anthony Cibotti III (TJ), purveyor of kindness, humor, generosity, patience, empathy and respect, died peacefully in his sleep July 15, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 50. Mr. Cibotti was born October 20, 1965 at Chelsea Naval Hospital and was a lifelong summer resident of Hull.

Mr. Cibotti lived his life in the calmest, kindest manner. Never in a rush and always willing to offer his optimistic outlook, he valued providing laughter and smiles to his friends and family with his unique sense of humor. As an angel here on earth, he will be missed.

He enjoyed movies... any and all movies. His mother and partner in crime, Marsha, deserves a medal for enduring many a horror movie. On a rare occasion, he would capitulate and allow the Hallmark channel.

He loved his Smart Car and his Truck. As a trained and certified mechanic, he was extremely proud of and loved tinkering with his 1996, yellow Mass DOT F-150.

Mr. Cibotti was predeceased by his father, Thomas Cibotti Jr. He is survived by his amazing mother and caregiver, Marsha Cibotti of Nashua, sister Lisa Williams and her husband David of Nashua, brother Scott Cibotti of San Ramon, CA, brother Dean Cibotti and his wife Lori of Bedford; five nieces and nephews: Jillian and Jexi Williams of Nashua, and Tyler, Ella and Evan Cibotti of Bedford; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Calling hours were scheduled at 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at the Crowne Plaza, Hunt Club, Nashua, NH, with a Celebration of Life immediately following.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you perform a random act of kindness. The simplest gestures matter. This will be capturing his essence.

Obituary: James H. Bornheim

James H. Bornheim, at 85

James H. Bornheim, (Jim) a longtime Hull resident passed to eternal rest after a brief illness on July 8.  He was 85.

Mr. Bornheim was born in Everett to the late Henry James and Elsie Bornheim. He spent his childhood in Cohasset and Hingham, graduating from Hingham High School with the class of 1948. Upon graduation from high school, Mr. Bornheim enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was a Korean War veteran and served his country in several European countries, including Germany, birthplace of his parents. Mr. Bornheim received several medals and honors for his service to his country.

After his discharge from the military, Mr. Bornheim married his high school classmate, Theodora (Teddy) Cobb, from Hull.  He attended Northeastern University and earned a degree in Business Management. Mr. Bornheim’s career path led him to Hollingsworth Corporation where he was promoted to the position of Chief Financial Officer. His career gave him the opportunity for travel within the United States and around the world including Asia, Europe and Central America. He especially enjoyed living briefly in California and Florida.

Upon his retirement from Hollingsworth, Mr. Bornheim remained very active, especially with his involvement in the family business, Nantasket Beach Hardware, formerly Anastos Hardware. Mr. Bornheim enjoyed his home by the ocean and tending to his stylish and colorful flower gardens. He also enjoyed his hobby of creating wooden models of schooners, which he proudly displayed throughout his home. He held a passion for the beach and the ocean. After his retirement, Jim and his wife Teddy would spend winters in Florida on the beaches of Fort Lauderdale, Lauderdale by the Sea and Miami Shores.

Mr. Bornheim is survived by his loving wife Theodora Bornheim; his son Kurt Bornheim and his wife, Renee, his son Mark Bornheim and his wife Carolyn and their children Lauren, Jeffrey and Evan Sullivan, his son Eric Bornheim and his partner, Daniel Frazier, all of Hull; his sister Norma Connelly, his sister in law Anna Shaheen and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Bornheim was predeceased by his brother George Bornheim and sister Helen Bornheim. All services will be private.

Obituary: Richard L. Tobin

Richard L. Tobin, at 84

Richard L. Tobin, of Florida and Hull, died June 30 at the age of 84.

Mr. Tobin proudly served his country in the U.S Marine Corps, attaining the rank of sergeant major. He also served as a sergeant for the Miami Beach Police Department for 36 years. He retired in 1993.

Mr. Tobin lived a storied life: from the professional boxing ring to the dugouts of major league baseball to the winner’s circle at Belmont Park. During his eight-year heavyweight boxing career, he boxed up and down the East Coast and compiled a 35-0 record.

Baseball provided a more lasting love for Mr. Tobin as he played for the St. Louis Browns, the Baltimore Orioles, and the Detroit Tigers, with whom he earned a World Series ring. Mr. Tobin also owned shares in two racehorses, including a Belmont winner, Colonial Affairs.

Mr. Tobin summered in Hull, where he enjoyed his home overlooking the ocean.

Son of the late Anthony G. and Margaret [Sullivan] Tobin; brother of the late John, Gerard, and Anthony Tobin, and the late Mary Tobin, Pauline Stenhouse, Margaret Pellegrini, Frances Gilroy, and Kathleen McKinnon; he is survived by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at St. Ann Church, 208 Samoset Ave., on Saturday, July 16 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private.

Obituary: Cynthia Kellem

Cynthia Kellem, at 84

Cynthia [Swartz] Kellem died July 9, after a period of declining health. She was 84.

Teacher, mentor, and regional musical theater “legend”, Mrs. Kellem died peacefully on Saturday, surrounded by her family. Throughout her 25-year career at Hull High School, she was a passionate advocate for education and a life-changing inspiration to many of her students.

After retirement, she turned her passion to civic organizations such as Wellspring and, most especially, the Hull Public Library. She was an avid lover of books and the cherished leader of her book club, the Mermaids. Her personality filled a room and her exclamations of happiness in the form of “WooHoo!” punctuated many great moments.

Above it all, she was a “hot ticket.” All of her children’s friends were members of the family and all were always made to feel special as she engaged with them throughout their lives. She took immense pride in her six grandchildren, who were enriched by her special talents and spirit.

Simply said, her family and friends loved her. That was evident at her funeral service Tuesday at Temple Beth Sholom’s Boyer Auditorium, where every seat was filled. More than 100 people stood to laugh, cry, and pray alongside those who were seated at the service that Rabbi Benjamin Lefkowitz led. 

The wife of Lawrence A. Kellem; mother of David Kellem and his wife, Deborah Asbrand, Steven Kellem, and Amy Slotnick and her husband, Daniel; grandmother of Sarah, Jordan, Matthew, Noah, Will, and Nell; Mrs. Kellem was also an aunt to Evie Adler and Scott Groper, Ed and Judy Adler, and Jeffrey Kellem.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Friends of the Hull Public Library or to Temple Beth Sholom of Hull.

Obituary: Mary Tull

Mary Tull, at 104

Mary [Mowad] Tull, widow of former Hull resident George M. Tull, died June 23, at her home in Quincy. She was 104.

Mrs. Tull was born in Port Barre, Louisiana on Dec. 2, 1911. She had a hand in raising four generations of her family. She strongly believed every child should be given every opportunity to thrive and that every animal should be nurtured and cared for. She was passionate about many causes and supported a great many charities. They, along with her family, will miss her generosity.

She leaves three children: Patricia M. Crosthwait, George Michael “Skip” Tull, and former Hull police officer Steve Tull; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.  

Services are private. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the South Shore YMCA annual support campaign, where she was on the board of directors for more than 30 years, the Quincy Animal Shelter, or any other charity of your choice.
