Obituary: Maureen R. Beneway

Maureen R. Beneway, 66

Maureen R. (McManus) Beneway, of Hull, passed away on Dec. 31 at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. She was 66. 

Maureen was a school bus driver (Bus A) in Hull and will be long remembered as “Mrs. B.” by hundreds of children. 

She was the loving wife of Almon Beneway of Hull and is also survived by her son Almon Beneway and his wife, Liz (Tempesta), of Pembroke; Christopher Beneway, of Malden; Katie Barclay and her husband, George, of Hull; and James Beneway, of Hull. She was the proud grandmother (Memaw) of Nora, Amelia, Adalynn, Liam, and Audrey. 

Sister to Kathleen Patterson, of Weymouth, Maureen joins her sisters Eileen Butler and Norine Presente in rest. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews. 

Maureen spent summers at “the cottage” in Wareham with many dear friends from the Agawam Lake Shore Drive neighborhood. 

She will be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor, and generosity.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family during visiting hours on Sunday, Jan. 16, from 2-4 p.m., in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central Street), Hingham. Her funeral service will be celebrated that day, at 4 p.m., in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home.
