Obituary: Dorothy J. Leptich
/Dorothy J. Leptich, at 80
Hull resident Dorothy J. [Driver] Leptich died Dec. 31. She was 80.
Born and raised in Montreal, Mrs. Leptich lived many places before settling in Hull. Blessed with the gift of wanderlust, she traveled the world, but found no place more exciting than being home, surrounded by those she loved.
Mrs. Leptich was an avid gardener, an active member of the Hull Garden Club, and always encouraged those around her to bloom where they were planted. She was an accomplished gourmet cook and nothing made her happier than having a full table to feed.
Her Catholic faith was of paramount importance. She was an active parishioner at St. Ann’s Church, where she attended daily Mass, and was a volunteer at Wellspring. True to her nurturing nature, she helped many people find a place to call home when she began work as a real estate agent at Jack Conway, later working with Coldwell Banker. She earned numerous awards for her outstanding sales records and service.
The beloved wife of Edward J. Leptich; she was the devoted mother of Colleen L. Bridges and husband, Robert, of Virginia, Jennifer A. Knobloch and husband, Scott, of Hull, and David E. Leptich and wife, Stephanie, of New Hampshire. The sister of Frances Weber of Toronto; Mrs. Leptich also was the loving grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of four.
Her funeral Mass was celebrated this morning at St. Ann Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wellspring Multi-Service Center, 814 Nantasket Ave., Hull, MA 02045. For online condolences, visit www.mcnamara-sparrell.com.
