Obituary: Kathleen V. Falcetta
/Kathleen V. Falcetta, at 77
Kathleen V. (Kennedy) Falcetta of Hull passed away peacefully at home on January 26, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family and friends. She celebrated her 77th birthday on December 30.
Born in Boston, Mrs. Falcetta was the daughter of the late John Raymond and Ruth Anne (Walker) Kennedy. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Nicholas A. Falcetta.
Kathleen and Nick’s love story began in 1978 when, by chance, they met at a gathering of mutual friends. According to Nick, he turned around and saw KathAleen (the name he lovingly used for her) and was struck by her incredible beauty; it was love at first sight. After a brief courtship, both knew they had found the love of their lives and married on April 6, 1979.
Once married, the couple settled and raised a family in Hull. Mrs. Falcetta found great serenity living near the beach with its beautiful views of the Gut and calming salt air. In 1980, they welcomed Katie Ann, and then Nichole Rosa in 1984.
Hull was not only the place where the family lived, but it became the community they embraced, which, in turn, embraced them. The Falcetta home became a hub for the neighborhood kids and was always bustling with activity.
Mrs. Falcetta gave of herself in many ways, and was an active member of the Hull PTO, Hull Boosters, Girl Scouts, and was one in the tight group of “drama mamas” for Hull High Theater Arts. She generously gave her time to support and raise funds for organizations throughout Hull.
Mr. and Mrs. Falcetta cherished time spent with special friends, especially traveling. She and her close friend Moe were known to grab the kids and bring them wherever they wanted to go at a moment’s notice.
In addition to enjoying cherished time with family and friends, Mrs. Falcetta loved to shop and was a pioneer in online shopping. She loved travel, trips to the casino, Scrabble, and Words With Friends, which became a game-changer for her.
Mrs. Falcetta graduated from Cardinal Cushing High School and then received her associate degree from Boston Business School. She began her career as a stenographer at the Suffolk County Superior Courthouse and went on to work for the City of Quincy at Quincy Hospital and the Department of Public Works.
In addition to Nick, Katie, and Nichole (Falcetta) and Matthew Londergan of Hull, she leaves her sisters, Ruthanne Kennedy of Weymouth and Marian (and Herb) Barbour of San Antonio, Texas; brothers-in-law Frank Falcetta of Atlanta and Dominic (and Rosemarie) of Brockton; and sisters-in-law Roseanna (and the late Dan) Bradley of Marshfield, Elizabeth (and John) Saville of Brockton, Madeline (and the late John) Merino of Brockton, Marie (and Vincent) Jankord of Pembroke, and Rita (and Bryan) Melanson of Marshfield. She also leaves many, many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Mrs. Falcetta’s greatest joy and pride came from being mammy, grammy, and little grammy to grandchildren Tyler Brown (and partner Patience), Madeline Brown, David Jacob Brown, Nicholas Londergan, and great-grandson Tyler Fisher Brown.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Episcopal Parish of St. John the Evangelist in Hingham at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, followed by a remembrance gathering for family and friends at The Parrot in Hull beginning at 12:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hull Boosters, PO Box 305, Hull, MA 02045.
