Shari Raebel Veen

Shari Raebel Veen passed peacefully at her beautiful home by the sea in Hull on Wednesday Aug. 24, 2022.

She was the beloved wife of David Veen, and her kindness, sincerity, and love were felt by all who knew and met her throughout her life.

Mrs. Veen was born in South Bend, Ind., and grew up in Norwell. She was the oldest daughter of Russell and Patricia Raebel.

She is survived by her mother, Pat, of New Orleans, her sister Toni Waltzer and her husband, Joel, of New Orleans, her sister Cindi Raebel of Abingdon, VA, and her sister Terri Raebel of Marshfield. She was the loving aunt of Noah and Eli Waltzer of New Orleans and Ben and Nick Veen of Los Angeles.

Mrs. Veen graduated from Stonehill College in the Class of 1982 and worked as a closing specialist/manager at Relocation Resources in Norwell, where she met the love of her life, Dave.

Shari and Dave were together for 33 years and married for 27 years after their nuptials on beautiful Nantucket.

They lived together by the ocean in Hull for 26 years, where Mrs. Veen enjoyed walking the beach and along the coastline virtually every day she could, collecting sea glass and enjoying beautiful views of sunrises, sunsets, and lighthouses.

Mrs. Veen was the ultimate lighthouse collector and filled her home with all things depicting the ocean and lighthouses. She enjoyed making counted cross stitches of beautiful seaside scenes. Mrs. Veen also was the ultimate Boston Sports fan and loved watching and attending games.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Ann’s Church, 208 Samoset Ave. The family will greet neighbors and friends at 9:30 a.m. in the church before Mass. A celebration of life will follow the church service at the Veen home, 40 Ocean Ave.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mrs. Veen’s memory to the Epilepsy Foundation of New England, 650 Suffolk St., Suite 405, Lowell, MA 01854-3694. Visit www.keohane.com for online condolences.
