/Barbara ‘Bobbi’ Kalb, 75
Barbara Lynn Kalb died unexpectedly on July 31, 2022 at age 75.
She was born on July 17, 1947, in New Brunswick, N.J., the daughter of Sam and Fae Sadowsky of Highland Park, N.J.
Mrs. Kalb graduated from Northeastern University in Boston in the Class of 1970 with a degree in education and art. She returned to New Jersey and worked for several years as an elementary school teacher. There, she met Clifford Kalb and they married in May 1973. The couple recently celebrated 49 years of marriage. Mrs. Kalb and her husband relocated to the Boston area in 2007 and settled in Hull, where they lived happily for the past 15 years. She was a loving daughter, mother, and wife to her family and her many friends. Above all else, she had the greatest pride in being a Mom and a homemaker.
Mrs. Kalb was very active in community affairs and was involved with The Nantasket Beach Salt Water Club, Coast Guard Auxiliary, South Shore Journal, and the Norwell Council on Aging. She was a lifelong learner and was passionate about her love of art, film, and entertainment, and had many artistic friends and mentors. These friends helped her decorate their Victorian home with beautiful art depicting the views, sites, and maritime activities around the lovely seaside town of Hull. Throughout her life, she maintained a strong love and bond with animals, especially her yellow lab, Marley.
Mrs. Kalb was predeceased by her parents. Surviving her are her husband, Clifford Kalb; her daughter, Jamie Leigh Fischer of Hull; her daughter, Laurie Lysko, and her partner, Gene, of Annandale, N.J.; her sister-in-law, Tina Jacobs, and her husband, Richard, of Clermont, Fla., her brother-in-law, Irvin Kalb, and his wife, Doreen, of Mountain View, Calif., and their respective children.
It was Mrs. Kalb’s wish to be cremated and have her ashes scattered at sea. A small private ceremony to honor her wishes will be conducted with the assistance of the Coast Guard of Hull.
Visitation and a celebration of her life will occur at the family home at 1 Tierney Ave., Hull, on Friday, Aug. 26, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and Saturday, Aug. 27, from 1 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. If you have questions, please call 617-956-2742.
