Obituary: Raymond Gerard Desharnais

Raymond Gerard Desharnais, at 61

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Ray Desharnais passed away on January 22, 2025 after a long, courageous battle with lung disease. A beautiful flame has been extinguished. 

Mr. Desharnais was born in Boston on August 25, 1963 and was raised and lived in Hull most of his life. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Nancy Desharnais, sister Laureen Reilly, and oldest brother Robert Desharnais Jr.

He is survived by his siblings, Richard Desharnais of Scituate, Ronald (& Vickie) Desharnais of Hooksett, N.H., Anne (& Doug) Wright of Charleston, S.C., Frances (& Tara) Desharnais of Randolph, Vincent Desharnais of Weymouth, and many nieces and nephews. His dogs Maeve and Merry will miss him very much.

Mr. Desharnais never met a stranger; everyone who met him loved him. He was loved by so many and will be missed even more. A loving son, brother, uncle and friend – he was the life of the party. If you ever sang and danced with him, you know. For those of you who knew him, lucky, lucky you.

Per his wishes, there will be no services, but a celebration of life will be scheduled.
