Obituary: Mary L. Estrella

Mary L. Estrella, at 55

Mary L. (Doherty) Estrella, 55, of East Wareham, died Monday, June 19, 2023, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River after a brief illness.

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of Laraine (Failla) and Joseph Doherty of Hull. Ms. Estrella was raised in Hull and graduated from Hull High School in the Class of 1986. She moved to Wareham 27 years ago where, as a single mother, she purchased her own home.

Ms. Estrella worked as a hairdresser at area salons for more than 30 years. She enjoyed the beach, animals, and spending time with her family and friends and her late dog, Belle.

Survivors include her daughters, Sarah Estrella of Middleboro, Shaylee Estrella of Wareham, and Gabriella Andrews of East Wareham; her parents, Joseph and Laraine Doherty of Hull; her sisters, Donna Hauter and her husband, Michael, of East Bridgewater, Stacy DiTullio of Abington, Christine Noonan and her husband, Sean, of East Bridgewater, and Louise Denault of New Bedford; her grandchildren, Carsyn Costa, Stella Costa, and Sophia Henderson; her life-long friend, Anne Wright of SC; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visiting hours were held on Wednesday, June 28 at Chapman Funerals and Cremations in Wareham.
