Obituary: Margaret Dineen Henshall

Margaret Dineen Henshall, at 77

Margaret “Peggy” Rochelle Dineen Henshall of Hull, died on Friday, Oct. 13, 2023. She was 77 years old.

Ms. Henshall was born July 10, 1946 in Somerville and was the daughter of the late Richard T. Dineen and Margaret C. McInerney Dineen of Hull. Ms. Henshall was the devoted stepmother of Laura Henshall, faithful sister of Claire Dineen, Richard M. Dineen, Timothy M. Dineen, and Michelle K. Dineen, sister-in-law of Judi Dineen, and aunt of Eric Lott, Christina Lott, Richard, Jason, Joshua, Nathan, and Benjamin Dineen.

Ms. Henshall grew up in Hull Village and loved the ocean. She walked everywhere, and when she was young, she surfed at Nantasket Beach. A 1964 graduate of Hull High School, she was seventh in her class, a member of the National Honor Society, and played on the basketball and softball teams. In Ms. Henshall’s younger years, she was a member of the Belles of St. Mary’s from Hull.

She loved to drive and went on numerous adventures and explored many exciting places. She traveled to Bermuda, California, Hawaii, and Prince Edward Island, taking pictures along the way. Ms. Henshall worked for New England Telephone Company in Boston for many years and more recently at the GMF Postal Facility at South Station, from where she retired. While working there, she met her best friend and companion, Bob White. Ms. Henshall enjoyed all types of music; she loved Roy Orbison and Johnny Mathis as well as the song “I’ll be Seeing You” by the Andrew Sisters.

Ms. Henshall was an avid sports fan – she loved the Red Sox, Celtics and New England Patriots. She was a very thoughtful, kind, generous, and loving person who will be greatly missed. She will be remembered always in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visitation on Thursday, Oct. 19, from 9-11 a.m. in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., Hingham. Funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial in Hull Village Cemetery.
