Obituary: Ronald T. Greenleaf

Ronald Thomas (“Ronnie”) Greenleaf of Wagram, N.C., formerly of Hull, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Nov. 27, 2022. He was 75 years old.

Loving father of Jill Greenleaf and John Thomas Greenleaf (and their spouses, Bill Mecklenburg and Jacqulyn Greenleaf), he is survived by his grandchildren, Sonny and Delia, his sister Tricia Greenleaf, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Marney, his four brothers – Bob, Richie, Jimmy, and Billy – and his children’s mother, Elaine “Lainzo” Greenleaf.
Mr. Greenleaf loved the outdoors. He was happy anytime he could go fishing, especially with his brother Jimmy, or spend time on his sister Tricia’s “Just Right Farm.” From his dog Liz to his turkey Peep Peep – who waited to greet him in the morning and would ride around the farm on the golf cart beside him – to his goats Billy and Jimmy (named after his two younger brothers), Mr. Greenleaf genuinely loved all animals. In fact, he was likely the only person to ever walk a pet goat on a leash and raise a hutch full of turkey chicks in his yard at Gunrock Beach. Mr. Greenleaf had a lifelong love of camping, beginning with the Londergan family and more recently with his friends at Pine Lake RV Resort.

There are no events planned, as Mr. Greenleaf did not wish to have a formal service.
