Obituary: Edmund G. Bregoli
/Edmund G. Bregoli of Braintree, formerly of Marshfield and Hull, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, on Dec. 7, 2022, at age 96.
Born and raised in Braintree, Mr. Bregoli graduated from Braintree High School. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and proudly served his country during WWII, where he earned the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. Mr. Bregoli had a long career in the banking industry, working for many banks in Boston and Braintree.
After his retirement, he rekindled his passion as an entertainer, singing and playing guitar with “Blanche Clark & the Melodics,” in Scituate where he met his late wife, Martha. Later, billed as “George & Martha,” the duo performed at many nursing homes on the South Shore. In later years Mr. Bregoli performed solo at the Braintree Highlands Housing Authority and the Hull Senior Center.
In his free time, Mr. Bregoli was crafty and enjoyed working with his hands. A devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, he will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to have known him.
Mr. Bregoli was the husband of the late Martha (Snyder) Bregoli. Father of Jane Bregoli of Dartmouth, June Bregoli of Norwell, Mark Bregoli of Hull, and the late Barry Bregoli; brother of Arthur Bregoli, John Bregoli, and Robert Bregoli, all of Braintree, and the late Louis Bregoli and Alfred Bregoli. He was the grandfather of David Bregoli, Jessica Bregoli-Sparling, Anna Bregoli, and the late Vincent Bregoli. Also survived by three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Close friend of the late Delores LaLama.
