Obituary: William F. Hennessey

William F. Hennessey, at 92
William F. Hennessey, of the South End and Hull, and formerly of West Roxbury, died peacefully July 20. He was 92. 
Mr. Hennessey was a graduate of Boston Latin School, class of 1943, and Harvard College, class of 1947, and was a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He was a retired principal and teacher for the Boston public schools. 
Loving husband of the late Alice G. (Moloney) Hennessey, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage, he is survived by his sibling, Sister Mary Hennessey, R.C., of Chicago. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph F. Hennessey, and his sisters, Ann Praught and Angela Heffernan. 
Mr. Hennessey was the devoted father of Billy Hennessey and his wife, Liz, of Milford; Sean Hennessey and his partner, Loc Duong, of the South End; Mara Hennessey and her husband, David Johansen, of New York City; Paula Hennessey, of Cambridge; Katie Hennessey and her husband, Brook Batteau, of Shelburne Falls; and grandfather of Leah Hennessey of New York City and Alouette Batteau of Shelburne Falls. He also leaves many beloved nieces and nephews. 
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, Aug. 9, from 4-7 p.m. in the Cathedral of the Holy Cross (lower church), 1400 Washington St., Boston. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Aug. 10, at 10 a.m., also at the cathedral (lower church). Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
