Obituary: Angeliki Booras

Angeliki Booras, at 66
Angeliki Booras, a loving mother and grandmother, died peacefully surrounded by family on June 14, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 66.
Mrs. Booras, fondly remembered as “Kiki,” was born in Kalamata, Greece, in 1952 and raised alongside three beloved younger sisters. She immigrated to the United States in 1972 after marrying her adoring husband, Peter.
Mrs. Booras dedicated herself to her family and her church.  Her outgoing and caring nature gave her many loyal friendships, which she carefully cultivated throughout her life.  Over the years she nurtured and raised four loving children in Hull and then in Cohasset. Her family was her pride and joy.
She was an avid cook, baker, and cake decorator. Mrs. Booras taught by example the importance of a love that is both tireless and unconditional. She was more than a devoted parishioner of the Panagia Greek Orthodox Church in Cohasset. She was a Greek school teacher for many years as well as president of the Church Philoptochos Society. Most especially, she was honored for her great generosity with her time and talent by the Metropolis of Boston in 2009 when she was granted the Ministry Award.
Mrs. Booras was a very specially involved “Yia-Yia” to her seven grandchildren: Kaliandra, Leo, Max, Orlando, Elizabeth, Charles, and Audrey. She never passed up an opportunity to spend time with them.
She is also survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Peter Booras; and four children: Dan Booras and his wife, Lara, of Norwell; Chrissy Vittorini and her husband, Jason, of Hingham; Bill Booras and his wife, Jessie, of Cohasset; and Peter Booras, of Maine.
She also leaves her beloved mother, Marigoula, and her three sisters, Ariadne, Aleka, and Eleni, of Greece. Mrs. Booras leaves many adoring nieces and nephews, as well as her vast network of friends gathered over the years. Most especially, she leaves more beautiful memories than there are stars in the sky.
Services have been held. Memorial donations may be made to the Panagia Greek Orthodox Church Community Center Building Fund, 811 Jerusalem Rd., Cohasset, MA 02025.
