Obituary: Debra M. Dann

Debra M. Dann, at 63
Debra Marie Dann died Sept. 30. She was 63.
Ms. Dann graduated from Hingham High School in 1972 and worked for many years in the hardware industry.
Ms. Dann loved animals. In her younger years she would go horseback-riding as often as she could. She was an avid board-game player and especially enjoyed playing Scrabble with her friends. She was happiest when she was with her family and when she was gardening.
Ms. Dann loved family, friends, but most of all, God. She “talked the talk and walked the walk,” as they say, and was a longtime member of the North River Church women’s prayer group, where she made many loving friends who were all united in the same beliefs.
Additionally she assisted her sister, Claire, with the children of South Shore Baptist Church, which she attended with her family for several years. The strength of those beliefs is what kept Ms. Dann moving forward with the love and compassion she showed to all who knew her. Her smile was a beacon of the love she shared and was returned to her tenfold.
The loving partner of Richard Burke, she was preceded in death by her sister, Claire M. McLaughlin. Ms. Dann is survived by her brothers, Edward Dann Sr. and Earl Dann, as well as eight nieces and nephews and 10 great-nieces and great-nephews, who dearly loved their Aunt Debi.
There are some who bring light so great to the world that, even after they have gone, the light remains. This was Debi.
Her graveside service will be private. For additional information and online condolences, please visit www.downingchapel.com.
