/John H. Castle, at 71
John Harold Castle, of Hull, died Dec. 28. He was 71.
Mr. Castle was known as Jack and was a proud Army sergeant who served our country during the Vietnam War. He was very active in the military community in his civilian life, too, as a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and a past commander of the Hull VFW Post 1787. He also was a member of the Scituate 3169 VFW, Cohasset American Legion 118, a life member of Vietnam Veterans Era Post 1 in Abington, a member of the DAV, and many other local organizations. He focused his life on caring for other veterans.
Mr. Castle also was passionate about boating and fishing and was a past commodore of the Back River Yacht Club and a member of the Commodores’ Club of America. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing and also solving puzzles.
His main passion in life was his family, especially his grandchildren, and spending time with those he loved. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
H was the beloved husband of 37 years of Mariruth (Kecskemety) Castle of Hull; loving father of Joseph Davis and his wife, Brandy, of Maine, and Paul Davis, Sheila Ranson and her husband, William, and Brad Castle and his wife, Danielle, all of Hull. He was the devoted grandfather of Virginia, Michael, Joseph, Dakota, Trevor, Joshua, Chloe, Ethan, and Brayden; and he leaves one great-granddaughter. Mr. Castle also is survived by many nieces and nephews.
