Obituary: Lawrence N. Papouleas

Lawrence N. Papouleas, at 71
Lawrence Nicholas Papouleas, 71, died April 23, at the Halifax Health Hospice in Edgewater, Florida.  
Son of the late Chris and Lillian Papouleas, Larry was born in Boston. Since his father owned a grocery and other businesses in Hull, including a company called Interstate Provision that locals knew as Chris’s, and his mother’s family lived in Florida, the family spent each year traveling between the two states.
So Mr. Papouleas attended both New Smyrna Beach High School and Hull High School, graduating from the latter in 1963. He graduated with a degree in business administration from Northeastern University in 1968. He worked as an accountant in Jacksonville and Tampa, Florida for several years. Eventually, he worked as office manager for a law firm in Titusville for about 25 years.
Mr. Papouleas loved stamp collecting and gardening, especially working with plants native to Florida. He had many friends and was like an uncle or grandfather to their children. He also sponsored children through child charities. 
Mr. Papouleas is survived by his sister Karen and her spouse, Elizabeth Wills; his aunts, Marie Simmons Goodrich and Ida Simmons Goodrich; and several cousins. 
Memorial services were held in Florida, with burial at New Smyrna-Edgewater Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care Center – Edgewater, 4140 South Ridgewood Ave., Edgewater, FL 32141.
