A Banner Day for New England PANS/PANDAS Awareness
/The first New England PANS/PANDAS Association Awareness Walk was a tremendous success, attracting dozens of participants from all over the region to Nantasket Beach last Sunday, Oct. 9. The event raised funds for and awareness of the autoimmune disorder that affects children. Clockwise from top left, Annie Peel-Crowley and Nic Errera-Solomon led the way with the event’s banner; Jennifer Whelan [center] one of the walk’s organizers, took a break to pose with Vienna Steiner and Alex MacDonald in the event’s photo frame, while siblings Greg Whelan, Mary Dunphy, Margaret Whelan, and Ed Whelan did the same. At the Mary Jeanette Murray Bathhouse, Lisa Grisolia, NE PANS/PANDAS president and State Rep. Joan Meschino addressed the crowd. Walkers included Leah Jollin Somers, Elizabeth Weydt, Alex MacDonald, and Katy & Zoltan Szabo, as well as the Gore family, who traveled all the way from New Hampshire to participate.
