Obituary: Brenda McDonald
Brenda McDonald, at 69
Brenda Marie (Morrisey) McDonald 69, of Port Richey, Fla., made her journey home on Monday, September 18, 2023 surrounded by family and close friends.
She was born on May 21, 1954 and raised in Hull. She was the daughter of the late Chester and Gertrude (Jeffrey) Morrisey, and was predeceased by her stepmother, Olive (Grant) Morrisey.
Mrs. McDonald graduated from Hull High School and relocated to Florida in 1992 with her loving husband of 40 years, William McDonald (retired from the MDC Police), but always kept Nantasket Beach close to her heart.
Mrs. McDonald always dreamed of obtaining a college degree, and that dream became a reality in 2011, when she received her associates degree in human services with honors. She was so passionate about helping others that she continued her academic journey to include a bachelor’s of science in psychology in 2014. However, her greatest academic accomplishment was graduating magna cum laude from Hodges University with her master of science in clinical mental health counseling in 2019.
Mrs. McDonald was resilient in the face of adversity. She had a passion for life and enjoyed the little things that make life so beautiful. She was a lover of plants, her animals, her family, and her friends. She loved unconditionally, gave generously, and forgave easily.
Her beautiful life will be cherished in the lives of her husband, Bill McDonald; sisters Donna, Rae-an, and Erin; brothers Buster and John; stepchildren Paula and her husband, Mark, Tim, and Scott McDonald; grandchildren Brianna and her husband Seth, Olivia and her partner Sasha, Carissa, Devin, Tim, Maggie, and Brian; great-grandchildren Ava, Lennyn, Harper, Jaxson, and Sophia; dear friends Pegi, Maureen, and Susan. She is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends that are too numerous to list.
A celebration of life gathering took place in Port Richey, Florida, on September 25, 2023.
