Obituary: Terrence K. Adams

Terrence K. Adams, 53

It is with great sadness that the family of Terrence (Terry) K. Adams, of Hudson N.H., formerly of Hull, announces his untimely death at age 53.

Terry was known for his big heart and for making friends wherever he went. If he shook your hand, you would be a friend for life. He always gave 100% to all his passions, whether riding to the top of the highest roller coaster, rappelling off a building, playing a great game of golf, cooking for family or friends, or fighting a three-alarm fire. He loved outdoor adventures – camping, fishing, whitewater rafting, hiking, bocce, and a good barbeque. Not to forget his great breakdancing skills, which made everyone laugh! He always lent a helping hand if he could.

In Hudson, Mr. Adams was making Sunday suppers for the vets and delivering the leftovers to the firehouse down the street.

Mr. Adams identified himself as a firefighter, and had a passion for the fire service and the culture within. He worked for the Hull Fire Department in 1990, and after a layoff was employed by the Boston Fire Department for more than 25 years. He treasured his fire department family -- members of the Hull and Boston fire departments who shared his passion for the job and supported him through his many struggles.

Mr. Adams was the son of the late Charles and Florence Adams of Hull. He was the loving brother of Patricia Kriensky and her husband, Marty, of Maine; John Adams and his wife, Mary, of Hull; Betsy Russo of Hull; Judith Adams and her fiancé, Robin Styles, of South Carolina; Timothy Adams and his wife, Nadine, of Hanover, and the late Melissa and her husband, William Dodson, of Florida, and many nieces and nephews.

He not only leaves his family but many close friends who have stood by him since childhood, especially John Kichler and his family of New Hampshire, Greg Sobczak, and Bryan Evans and his family of Hull. The family can’t thank them enough.

As Terry would want to continue his journey of helping others, donations can be made in his memory to Wellspring Multiservice Center, 814 Nantasket Ave., Hull, MA 02045. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
