Diane Marie Holst, 79

 Diane Marie Holst (neé Cloherty) died Nov. 8, 2022 at her home in Ojai, CA. She was 79 years old.

Born April 1, 1943, Ms. Holst was the daughter of the late Helen (Cahill) Cloherty and William Charles Cloherty of Hull. She graduated from Hull High School in 1960. At HHS, she excelled as a member of the National Honor Society, was an HHS Pirates cheerleader, and worked part-time at the then-Anastos Hardware store. She was affectionately nicknamed “The Saint” by her friends and peers.

She went on scholarship to college at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y., and graduated summa cum laude in 1965 from Temple University in Philadelphia.

She leaves behind her children, Jen (Holst) Diedrich of Allentown, Penn. and Daniel Holst of West Mifflin, Penn., and her two grandchildren, Addy Diedrich and Isabella Holst.

William Martin Cloherty, eldest of the seven siblings, preceded her in death. Her remaining siblings are James Michael Cloherty of Scituate, Dennis Miles Cloherty of Wakefield, Mary Ann Cloherty of Hull, John Paul Cloherty of Everett, and Brian Owen Cloherty of Northfield, Minn.

Per Ms. Holst’s wishes, her ashes were scattered in the Pacific Ocean. A celebration of life to honor and remember her will be held at a future date.
