Obituary: Angela Lanoue
Angela Lanoue, at 51
On Thursday, July 4, 2019, Angela Kuhn Lanoue, loving wife of Christopher J. Lanoue, passed away. Angela was born on September 12, 1967 in Houston, Texas, where her loving parents, Anthony “Tony” and Glendeline Kuhn, reside.
Even from the beginning, Angela lived life to the fullest. She loved to perform, filling her childhood years with twirling and dancing. She also loved to spend time with family, enjoying summers and holidays with her cousins and grandparents in Texas.
Angela graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in marketing and organizational psychology and had a successful career in healthcare sales. Her career took her Philadelphia briefly, before bringing her to Boston.
Although rooting for the Texas Rangers was in Angela’s blood, the Boston Red Sox won her over and she became a die-hard Red Sox fan, with Big Papi being her most beloved player. Angela adopted the city of Boston as her own.
On September 17, 2005, she married Chris, who was the love of her life. Following their marriage, Angela and Chris lived in New York City and Rotterdam, but ultimately ended up back in Boston, the city Angela loved. In the early evenings, you would often find her walking her yellow lab, Jetson, down the Commonwealth Avenue mall. With a quick humor and just the slightest Texas accent, everyone she encountered along the way would be engaged with her in minutes. Wherever she lived, she always knew everyone in the neighborhood.
Angela was well-known for her elegance and sense of style, which was second to none. She had a passion and an eye for creating the perfect home, evident wherever she and Chris lived, but no more so than in their home in Hull where they moved five years ago. While always a city person, Angela loved the ocean and was happiest near the water. She loved watching the sunset over the water from her deck and some of her favorite trips were to Hawaii with Chris, where she fell in love with humpback whales.
During the years of her illness, Angela was always surrounded by family and friends, whom she loved deeply traveling the world with them Her strength to fight through her illness was driven by her love of life and her love for her husband. She leaves a huge hole in the hearts of the many whom loved her.
Angela was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Edward and Antonia Stibora, and her paternal grandparents, Leo and her adored Bernice “Granny” Kuhn, whom she spoke of often and fondly. She is survived by her husband, Chris, her parents, Tony and Glendeline, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m. on July 20, 2019, at the Arlington Street Church in Boston. The service will be followed by a reception at Chris and Angela’s home in Hull beginning at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute or the Pacific Whale Foundation.
