Gilbert F. Rebello Jr., at 82
Gilbert F. Rebello Jr, of Hull, died May 18. He was 82.
Born and raised in Cambridge, Mr. Rebello graduated from Cambridge Ridge and Latin High School. He proudly served in the Army for several years, then took a position with the U.S. Postal Service, where he stayed for more than 40 years.
He loved to fish and enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas to play blackjack.
Proud to be an American, Mr. Rebello remained active with many veterans’ groups. A longtime member of the VFW as well as the American Legion Post in Cohasset, he also was a member of the Knights of Columbus and volunteered at Sunset Point Vacation Camp in Hull.
The beloved husband of the late Theresa E. (Brown), he was the loving father of Lisa Rebello and Gilbert Rebello, both of Hull, and brother of the late Lorraine Schuka, Margaret (“Peggy”) Maze, and Patricia (“Pat”) Berguson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Mr. Rebello will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, uncle, and dear friend.
His funeral service will be celebrated at noon Thursday at the Pyne Keohane Funeral home, 21 Emerald St., Hingham. Burial in Hull Village Cemetery will follow the service.
