Dorothy M. Appel, at 93
Dorothy “Dolly” May (Kaufman) Appel, a longtime Hull resident, died March 11 at the age of 93. 
An avid reader, Mrs. Appel spent many years on the Library Board of Trustees. She also served as a secretary for the Hull Public Schools, working in both the Jacob and Memorial schools.
She was the beloved wife of Bernard Appel and devoted mother of Roy Appel and his wife, Mala Strassfeld, and Nina Gardner and her partner, Steve Dolan; she was the former mother-in-law of Joe Gardner. 
She was the loving grandmother of Justin, Eric, and David Appel; Nicole Powers and her husband, Jamie; and Jeffrey Gardner; and she was great-grandmother of Matthew Powers. 
Services have been held. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
