Obituary: Katherine D. Soligan

Katherine D. Soligan, at 90
Hull resident Katherine (“Kitty”) D. Soligan died Dec. 25 at age 90. Born in Boston, she grew up in Dorchester and moved to Hull in 1957. 
Ms. Soligan was a longtime employee of John Hancock Insurance Co. She was a unique and loving woman for whom family was everything. She loved dancing, skiing, sailing, traveling, and spending time at the ocean. She was a passionate Red Sox and Patriots fan, an amazing cook whose grape leaves were legendary, and an avid gardener. She was fiercely devoted to her family and always looked forward to Uno, cribbage, and mahjong games; she loved to win.
Loving sister of the late Jon Soligan, Theodora Soligan, Florence Soligan Ladd, and Aphrodite Soligan, she was the cherished aunt of 12 nieces and nephews, 14 great-nieces and great-nephews, and two great-great-nieces and nephews. Ms. Soligan also is survived by many cousins, neighbors, and dear friends. 
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Saturday 10 a.m. in the Panagia Greek Orthodox Church, Cohasset. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Forest Hills Cemetery, Boston. If attending these, please do not wear any perfumes, colognes, or scented lotions. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Soligan Family Scholarship Fund, Braintree High School, 128 Town St., Braintree, MA 02184, or Panagia Greek Orthodox Church, 811 Jerusalem Road, Cohasset, MA 02025.
