Obituary: Michael D. Gallagher

  Michael D. Gallagher, of Hull, died Aug. 7. He was 65.
  Mr. Gallagher worked for the state Dept. of Revenue from 1971-2010, retiring as the deputy chief of the Audit Division. He always enjoyed traveling with his family and friends, golfing, the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots, and Boston College football. When his children were younger he coached their Hull Youth Soccer and softball teams. He also served on the Hull School Committee, from 1991-’97.
  His pride and joy in life was his beautiful family, always enjoying the special times with his four beautiful grandchildren. Mr. Gallagher will be greatly missed.
  Beloved husband of Denise M. [Vardaro] Gallagher; loving father of Maura Jones and her husband, Mathew, and Chrissy Ramos and her husband, Nazario, all of Hull, and the late Alison Gallagher; brother of Maureen Schwede and her husband, Joseph, of Hyannis, Eileen Gallagher of Hull, and the late Kathleen Daley and Stephen Gallagher. The proud grandfather of Michael, Brianna, Maggie, and Dominick, Mr. Gallagher also is lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.
  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours today [Thursday, 4-8 p.m., at Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., Hingham.
  A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 a.m. on Friday prior to his funeral Mass at St. Ann’s Church at 10. Burial will follow, at Hull Village Cemetery.
