Arlene F. Nee, at 79
Arlene F. [Sullivan] Nee, of Hull, died April 12 at the age of 79.
Born in East Boston and raised in South Boston, she attended Cardinal Cushing High School. A homemaker and devout mother of five boys, she also worked as a Boston school crossing guard in the early 1970s and helped establish libraries at the Emily A. Fifield and Woodrow Wilson schools in Dorchester as a volunteer. While serving as business representative at New England Telephone and later Verizon, she earned a B.S. degree in business administration from Boston College in 1993. She retired in 1999 and settled in Hull, where she kept in close contact with her seven grandchildren and one great grandchild while admiring her precious view of Boston Lighthouse.
Loving mother of Michael J. Nee of Dorchester, Martin A. Nee (Helena) of Cohasset, Stephen J. Nee of Marshfield, Daniel K. Nee of Hull, and the late Francis L. Nee; dear grandmother of Ashley Nee, Gunnar and Lisel Nee, Sabrina and Liam Nee, Martin A. Nee, and the late April E. Nee. Mrs. Nee also leaves her siblings: Lawrence Sullivan of Malden, Paul Sullivan of Florida, Joseph Sullivan of Bourne; and a daughter in law, Grace Nee. She was formerly married to Peter F. Nee.
Her funeral Mass will be held Saturday at noon at St. Ann’s Church, 208 Samoset Ave., Hull. Interment will be at Hull Village Cemetery.
