In Remembrance: Lauren Victoria Gould

In Remembrance: Lauren Victoria Gould 1985 - 2017
Lauren Victoria Gould, the daughter of Laurence and Kate (Wonson) Gould of Agawam, and the wife of Daniel Nunez of Pasadena, Texas, passed into the hands of our Lord in Heaven on May 31, 2017.
She joined her paternal grandparents, Laurence and Phyllis Gould of Hull, her maternal grandparents, Russell and Mary (Pinkie) Wonson of Gloucester, and her second cousin, Robert Larsen of Hull.
Ms. Gould was born in Abington, Penn., and was raised in Cromwell, Conn., where she graduated from the Cromwell schools, the International Institute of Cosmetology and the Connecticut School of Broadcasting. Ms. Gould briefly taught cosmetology, and later worked in public relations for radio station 104.1-FM in Glastonbury.
Ms. Gould married Daniel Nunez at Beauport in Gloucester in July of 2013, and the couple lived in Houston and Pasadena, where Ms. Gould worked in public relations for country station 93Q, and as a campaign manager for the Texas Democratic National Party.
Ms. Gould’s friendly, loving and caring nature, bigger-than-life personality, and hilarious sense of humor endeared her to everyone she met.  Her comments on Facebook regarding incompetent politicians and temperamental celebrities were enjoyed by her many followers. She loved her friends and co-workers, and especially adored her many relatives.
In spite of having older parents who raised her to appreciate the classic singers, such as Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Judy Garland, and Perry Como (his version of “With a Song in My Heart” was one of her favorites), Ms. Gould could not get enough of Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, Morrissey, or Green Day, among others.
Ms. Gould is greatly missed by her parents, and her aunt and uncle, Marie and Randy Gould of Hull Village. She is fondly remembered by a host of Gould and Wonson aunts, uncles and cousins, and by her wonderful husband, Daniel, and his family.
‘Til we meet again...
“But I always knew, I would live life through, with a song in my heart for you.”

Obituary: Pasquale Truglia

Pasquale Truglia, 88
Pasquale Truglia, of Hull, died on May 13. He was 88.
Patsy, as many knew him, left this world as he lived it – laughing, battling, and finding joy wherever it be. His death came after a long, full life.
Born in Palermiti, Italy, he survived war-torn Italy during WW II. He then crossed the Atlantic as a teen to start a new life, going on to live in Hull for more than 50 years. Along with his devoted wife of 63 years, Antonietta, he raised two loving daughters.
In 1991, Pasquale overcame a battle with a brain tumor, to live on in health for 30 more years, seeing his five adoring grandchildren grow and enjoy their time with him.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Pasquale. He loved working outdoors, landscaping and helping his wife with her plush garden. He loved the company of loved ones, playing games like bocce and horseshoes while telling stories.
His uncanny ability to find happiness in the little things in life is to be envied, as a smile was never far from his face.
Survived by wife Antonietta, daughters Maria and Josie, sons-in-law Rosario and Domenic, and five grandchildren, Pasquale Truglia leaves a legacy of love and strength.
Burial will be private. See www.Keohane.com for directions and online condolences.

Obituary: Douglas Crowley

Douglas Crowley, 28
Douglas Crowley, of Weymouth, died unexpectedly on March 4. He was 28.
Doug was sensitive, kind, brilliant, gregarious, and hilariously funny. He attended Hingham Public Schools and was deemed a National Merit Scholar based on his Scholastic Aptitude Test.
He was a prolific writer from an early age; he wrote his first short story when he was 10. When he was 12, he knew enough Spanish to help some folks on the MBTA with directions. He later became nearly fluent and used his Spanish language skills in a number of jobs, including his position at Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare, where he was adept at explaining the labyrinthian intricacies of health insurance coverage to his customers.
Doug also worked his way up as a server in fine dining, getting his start with the Eatwell Inc. restaurants – Tosca, Cafe Tosca, and Stars Restaurant in Hingham. He moved to Manhattan at age 21 and worked at several Michelin-rated restaurants.
Doug was equally comfortable in conversations with his colleagues at the front and back of the house, as well as the occasional celebrities and political bigwigs whom he waited on. On his days off, he took artful photographs of the people and architecture around the city.
Most importantly, Doug was empathic. He was a fierce supporter of the underdog or anyone who seemed to be suffering. Just before he died, Doug was planning to return to college and, eventually, law school.
Anyone who ever engaged in friendly arguments with him would have endorsed this plan.
Doug was the beloved brother of Cynthia Crowley, of Burlington, Vt. He was the cherished son of Karyn Donahue, of Somerville, formerly of Hull; and Richard Crowley, of North Weymouth. He was the beloved grandson of Ameila Crowley, of North Weymouth, and Alice Donahue, of Quincy. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A funeral and celebration of Doug's life was held on March 11.
Doug struggled recently with the disease of opioid addiction. If you knew Doug, or you or someone you know has struggled with the awful scourge of opioid addiction, please consider making a donation, in Doug's memory, to www.learn2cope.org, a nonprofit support network that offers education, resources, peer support, and hope for parents and family members coping with a loved one addicted to opiates or other drugs.

He founded his own company, PHB International, in 1963, and he worked there well past his 90th birthday. To his great pride, his son, Barry, joined the business in 1986 and became his lifelong business partner.

He was often found in a sunny spot on his porch doing The New York Times crossword puzzle, binoculars at hand to keep an eye on the striped bass.

Obituary: Patricia Mary Dennihan

Patricia Mary Dennihan, 62
Patricia Mary (Comeau) Dennihan, of Plymouth, formerly of Hull, died peacefully at her home on March 17. She was 62.
Patti, as she was known, was born and raised in Hull. The daughter of the late Ralph and Marie (Coyne) Comeau, she graduated from Hull High School with the class of 1977 and attended Quincy Jr. College.
She worked at different jobs while raising her two sons, Joseph and Derek Dennihan. They were the loves of her life. For the past several years she worked at The Chilton House in Plymouth, and she often talked about residents and staff as if they were part of her extended family.
When she wasn’t working, Patti was often in Hull or Weymouth, visiting with friends and family and always giving a helping hand with anything that had to be done. Reading, beach time, and playing cards with her sister Cathy were some of her favorite pastimes.
Patti was a loving, selfless, and caring person. Her faith, family, friends, and life lessons are part of her legacy that continue through all the lives she touched.
Patti was the devoted mother of Joseph R. (“Joey”) Dennihan, of New Bedford, and Derek J. Dennihan and his wife, Meghan Soule, of Sagamore. She was the loving sister of Ralph Comeau, of Weymouth; Janice Marcella and her late husband, Richard, of Hull; Paul Comeau, of Florida; Cathy Comeau, of Hull; Kevin Comeau and his wife, Francie, of Florida; Denise Comeau, of Hull; and the late Rosemary Gately and her surviving husband, William, of Weymouth. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews … all extended family and dear friends.
A funeral service was to be held this Thursday morning, March 25, at the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home in Hingham, with interment taking place in Hull Village Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Patti’s name to The Chilton House, 3 Chilton St., Plymouth, MA 02360.
