Arlene Lucid, at 83
Arlene (Murphy) Lucid of Hingham (formerly of Norwell and Hull), passed away peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2025 after a brief illness. She was 83 years old.
Mrs. Lucid was born in Boston in 1941 and raised in Weymouth. After graduating from Weymouth High School, she worked as a legal secretary, a real estate agent, and an office manager. She met the love of her life, A. Russell Lucid, Jr., at age 16 and after dating for nine years, they were married for 46 years until his death in 2012. Mrs. Lucid was a devoted mother and grandmother of her two children and five grandchildren.
Mrs. Lucid enjoyed travel, sailing, and spending time with her family. She made several trips to visit her son Brian and his family during the time they lived in New Zealand, and over the years, she also traveled to England, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Egypt, and the Virgin Islands, among other places. Mrs. Lucid loved the ocean, and during the last years of her life, she found joy and peace in sitting on her balcony with its view of Nantasket Beach.
She is survived by her two children, Amy Lucid Inezian and her husband, Armand Inezian, of Roslindale, and Brian Lucid and his wife, Yueyun Song, of London, England, as well as her five grandchildren: Hanna, Tae Hyun, and Jae Hyun Lucid; and Sebastian and Katia Inezian . She also is survived by her sisters, Marilyn Talbot, of Atkinson, N.H. and Elizabeth Murphy of Hull, and her brother, Paul Murphy and his wife, Terry, of Weymouth, as well as many nieces and nephews, and her beloved partner for the last 10 years of her life, Robert (Bobby) O’Sullivan. Mrs. Lucid was predeceased by her husband, A. Russell Lucid Jr., and her loving parents, Helen and William Murphy of Weymouth.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday, February 7, from 9-11 a.m. in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., Hingham. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Friday. Services will conclude with interment in Hull Village Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Arlene Lucid to the Benderson Heart Center at Boston Children’s Hospital as thanks for its lifesaving care of her grandson Sebastian.
