Obituary: Margaret Mary Pearson

Margaret Mary Pearson, at 100

Margaret Mary Pearson, a longtime Hull resident, died June 1, 2023 at the Guardian Center in Brockton, as she neared the age of 101.

Mrs. Pearson, born Margaret Pitts, was the first baby born in Braintree Hospital in 1922 and a proud 10th-generation descendant of the Mayflower families. She was raised in Braintree with her brothers, Charles and Arthur, and attended the Woodward School for Girls.

In addition to raising four girls, Mrs. Pearson worked at Raytheon, General Dynamics, and the Quincy shipyard, and volunteered frequently at polling locations. She loved visiting casinos and held a time-share in Las Vegas for more than 25 years. Mrs. Pearson was an avid bowler, loved knitting, crocheting, and making rugs. She lived in Quincy in her later years and played cards and bingo with her good friends on a nightly basis.

From her first marriage to Amedio Banzi (widowed in 1959), Mrs. Pearson leaves daughter Darlene Robyn and her children Anje, Cody, and Jesse, and was predeceased by her son-in-law, Rab; as well as her daughter, Janice Dunphy, and her husband, Michael, and their children, Kayleen, Michael, and Paul.

From her second marriage to Melvin Pearson (widowed in 1999), Mrs. Pearson leaves daughter Margie Dunn and her husband Henry, and their children, Paul, Kevin, Joey, Ashleigh, and Ryan; and daughter Cynthia DiTullio and her ex-husband Stephen, and their son, Dallas. Mrs. Pearson also leaves behind her stepchildren from her second marriage, Pammy, Gary, Jimmy, and was predeceased by Skippy, Kathy, and Judy.

Mrs. Pearson will be cremated, and her family will honor her in a private ceremony later this summer.
