Obituary: Jason R. Belmarsh

Jason R. Belmarsh, at 46

Jason R. Belmarsh, a longtime resident of Hull, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 11, 2023. He was 46.

He was born in Albany, N.Y. to Susan M. and Robert S. Belmarsh. The family moved to Hull when he was a toddler, and Mr. Belmarsh grew up in Hull and spent most of his life here. He graduated from Hull High School in 1995 where he played hockey. Shortly after high school, Mr. Belmarsh began working as a mason. He mostly worked for himself in the industry for more than 26 years and took great pride in his work.

In his spare time, Mr. Belmarsh loved spending time with his son, Blaise, and his many nieces and nephews. He had a great group of friends, but family always came first. His greatest joy came from time spent with family. He enjoyed football, whether it was playing it in the backyard with Blaise or watching on TV.

Mr. Belmarsh was hard-working and had a good heart. He was always there to help others and the first to reach his hand out if somebody needed it. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Devoted father of Blaise Belmarsh of Hull. Cherished son of Susan M. and Robert S. Belmarsh. Loving brother of Jared Belmarsh and his wife, Anna, of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., Steve Belmarsh and his wife, Amy, of Plymouth, Mark Belmarsh of Hull, and Brian Belmarsh and his wife, Caitlin, of Hanover. Also survived by Susan Hanna of Hull and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as Blaise’s uncle, Rob Scully.

Visiting hours were held on Dec. 20, and his funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday, Dec. 21, at 10 a.m. in Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., Hingham. Burial in Hull Village Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mr. Belmarsh may be made to Habitat for Humanity, 322 West Lamar St., Americus, GA 31709-3543. Visit www.keohane.com for online condolences.
