Obituary: Timothy C. Anderson

Timothy C. Anderson, at 71

Timothy C. Anderson of Hull passed away on July 12, 2022, at age 71.

Known as Tim, Mr. Anderson was born and raised in Hinsdale, Ill., the fifth of the seven children of Paul Eugene Anderson and Mary Agnes (Donnell) Anderson. He held a bachelor of arts from Boston College, earned an MPA at Harvard’s Kennedy School, and remained in Massachusetts until his death.

Mr Anderson was the ultimate connector of people, working on major political campaigns, advising over 300 non-profits as a consultant, and founding organizations that connect communities and founding organizations that fostered public access to the arts, education, and the natural world. In recent years he founded and ran World Computer Exchange (WCE), which combined elements of previous entrepreneurial ventures. He folded together the environmental focus he had in starting the Hull Environment & Service Corp, with the pioneering educational focus of the South Shore Charter School. WCE deploys a global network of volunteers and partners that empowers students with donated technology and educational resources.

He had a prodigious talent for frying eggs and cooking leftovers. Mr. Anderson also had an insatiable passion for long talks, long walks, and an ability to connect to an endless circle of friends and family with humor and empathy. He was a man on a mission to do good anywhere he could.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Pamela Cooney, his two children, Kimball (Laurel Leake) and Jaren, surviving brothers Kyle (Colette), Dave (Bernadine), Phillip (James), and Tom, and one sister, Elizabeth, and an endless array of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Mr. Anderson’s life is being planned, with details to follow on www.WorldComputerExchange.org, where donations can be made in Mr. Anderson’s memory in lieu of flowers.
