Obituary: Frances Leona Langlands

Frances Leona Langlands, at 88

Frances Leona Langlands passed away peacefully on July 1, 2022.

Mrs. Langlands was born on April 27, 1934 in Lynn, the daughter of Harry and Hilda Kunian. She moved to Hull in 1963 with her husband, George Silver, and raised three daughters in town.

Her family remembers her as a strong, hard-working woman. She was a dedicated CNA for more than 60 years, with years of service both in nursing homes and hospice. She loved animals and was extremely talented with the arts. Her hobbies included reading, cake decorating, crocheting, knitting, drawing, painting, and sketching.  

Mr. Silver predeceased her, as did a brother, Alan Kunian. Mrs. Langlands is survived by her loving husband, Robert T. Langlands Sr., to whom she was married for 38 years, and her children, Joy Greim, Merle (Peter) Joyce, and Paula (Tony) Saayfan, as well as eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She also leaves stepchildren Debbie (Gary) Peake, Cindy Holmes, Robert T (Janet) Langlands, Jr., Donald (Mary) Langlands, Sheri (Jose) Rodriguez, Sue (Mark) Botsch, 16 step-grandchildren, and 12 step-great-grandchildren.

A private ceremony will take place on Sunday, Aug. 7.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hull Seaside Animal Rescue PO Box 787, Hull, MA 02045, www.hsar.org.
