Obituary: Patrick Joseph Bowes Jr.

Patrick Joseph Bowes Jr., 46

Patrick Joseph Bowes Jr., of Hull, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022 as a result of a heart attack. 

Beloved son of the late Patrick (SFD) and Connie (Ward) Bowes, Mr. Bowes was raised in Scituate and graduated from Scituate High School in 1995. At SHS, he played varsity hockey, varsity baseball and varsity golf. 

Mr. Bowes graduated from St. Joseph’s College in Vermont and was on the baseball, golf, and ski teams. He earned a bachelor of science and a business degree from St. Joseph’s.

Mr. Bowes was a talented carpenter and owned his own carpentry business. For years, he lobstered with his Dad on his Dad’s boat, The Katie-Pat.  He also fished for Tom Bell on the Michael Brandon and with Phil Lynch on the Mary Elizabeth and Paula Lynn. Most recently, Mr. Bowes had bought his own boat and was lobstering out of Scituate Harbor. 

Mr. Bowes is survived by his loving wife of eight years, Jennifer (Nonenmacher) Bowes and their five-year-old son, Patrick, who idolized his Dad.

Mr. Bowes was the only sibling and younger brother of Katie (Bowes) Prendergast and her husband, Tom. He was the supportive and entertaining uncle to Tommy, Kevin, and Jack Prendergast, all of Marshfield. Mr. Bowes was the son-in-law of Paul and Dale Nonenmacher and brother-in-law to Paul Nonenmacher.

He leaves behind his faithful dog, David.  Also left behind are many aunts, uncles, cousins and cherished friends.  As one family member said, “There is a huge hole in our family now.” 

Mr. Bowes will be greatly missed by the people who loved him. Gone too soon, 143.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Patrick Joseph Bowes Jr . at a wake on Tuesday, Dec. 6 from 4-7 p.m. at McNamara Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St., Cohasset. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 2 Summer St., Cohasset.
