Obituary: Paul F. Peaslee
Paul F. Peaslee, at 63
Paul F. Peaslee Jr., of Hull and formerly of Hingham and Quincy, died Aug. 31 at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He was 63 and had suffered a brief illness.
Born in Quincy, Mr. Peaslee – who was known as Gunther – worked for many years as a construction supervisor, including working on the Big Dig in Boston.
He was a member of the New England Mountain Bikers Association, Friends of Wompatuck, and the Bare Cove Fire Museum.
Devoted to his family, Mr. Peaslee was a very hard worker and was a member of the volunteer fire department in Hingham for many years. He enjoyed mountain biking at Wompatuck State Park and was a longtime organizer of the annual Land Mine Race.
He was the beloved husband for 42 years of Mary Ann (Gilbrook) Peaslee and devoted father of Shayne Ledwell and her husband, Ronald, of Rockland, Ryan Peaslee, of Scituate, and Paul F. Peaslee III and his wife, Tanya, of Hull. Mr. Peaslee was the loving grandfather of Deven Peaslee, Elizabeth Ledwell, and Ronald Ledwell Jr. A fourth grandchild is expected in October.
Mr. Peaslee was the brother of John and his wife, Kimberly, of Tennessee, Timothy and his wife, Patricia, of Weymouth, James and his wife, Kimberly, of Maine, and Janet Brandt and her husband, James, of Framingham. He also is survived by many nieces and nephews and his canine companion, Jack, and his Big Boy.
