Obituary: Nano Rush

Nano Rush, at 67
Nano Rush, 67, friend, sister, and beloved aunt, died peacefully July 31 in Sarasota, Fla. She was surrounded by the love of friends and family at her passing. 
Born and raised in Quincy, she was a graduate of Archbishop Williams High School, Simmons College, and Yale University. Ms. Rush had a career in public health administration in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Virginia, and Florida. A proud champion of women’s health and equal rights, she was a politically active progressive for many causes. 
After her retirement, Ms. Rush split her time between Sarasota and Hull. She enjoyed kayaking and was a certified nature guide. She also enjoyed traveling with nieces and nephews on exotic and adventurous trips, volunteering at radio station WSRQ, and volunteering for political campaigns.
Ms. Rush is survived by her brothers: Denis Rush, his wife, Annmarie Peters Rush, and their children, Jonathan Rush and Zachary Rush of Weymouth; Kevin Rush, his wife Sally McCartin Rush, and their children, Alex Rush and Juliana Rush of Quincy; and Timothy Rush of Edgartown. She was also the aunt of Nara Rush and Daniel Rush of Keswick, Va. To honor her memory, donations may be made to the Hull Public Library, Planned Parenthood, or Wellspring of Hull.
