Obituary: Theodora Bornheim

Theodora Bornheim, at 88
Theodora (Cobb) Bornheim, a longtime Hull resident, entered into eternal rest June 14, after a brief illness. She was 88.
Mrs. Bornheim, who was known as “Teddy,” was born in Hull to the late Franklin and Elizabeth Cobb. She spent her childhood in Hull and Florida and graduated from Hingham High School with the class of 1948. She married her high school classmate, James (“Jim”) H. Bornheim.
After graduation, Mrs. Bornheim was employed as a volunteer Red Cross ambulance driver and also worked at the Hull Post Office at Anastos Corner. For many years, she was actively involved with the family business, Nantasket Beach Hardware, formerly Anastos Hardware.
After raising her beloved children, Mrs. Bornheim traveled extensively with her husband through Florida and California during his business assignments.
She enjoyed her home by the ocean with her fragrant and colorful rose gardens and enjoyed watching the colorful birds come to the bird feeder.
After retirement, Mrs. Bornheim would spend the winter with her husband on the beaches of Fort Lauderdale, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, and Miami Shores in Florida. Side by side, the couple shared a love that endured nearly 60 years. Mr. Bornheim predeceased his wife.
Mrs. Bornheim is survived by her three loving sons: Eric, and his partner Daniel Frazier; Mark, and his wife Carolyn; and Kurt, and his wife Renee, all of Hull. She also leaves three grandchildren: Lauren, Evan, and Jeffrey Sullivan; her beloved sister, Anna Marie Cobb Shaheen, of Hingham; and a nephew, Jeffrey Shaheen, and his wife, Merideth, of Hull. She was the aunt of the late Joey Shaheen.
