Obituary: Matthew J. McSweeney
Matthew J. McSweeney, at 28
Matthew “Matty” J. McSweeney, 28, of Braintree, formerly of Hull, died July 7, after a courageous, 11-year battle with cancer.
Mr. McSweeney was passionate about golf and was a dedicated golf instructor. He enjoyed spending time with friends and his huge family. Well-dressed and admired, he brought a smile to those he met.
He was the precious and devoted son of Maria Dangora McSweeney of Braintree and John M. McSweeney Jr. of Yarmouth Port; he was also the loving and loyal brother of Mark J. McSweeney and his wife, Lisa, and adoring uncle of his twin nephews, Owen and Aiden, all of New Hampshire. He was the affectionate grandson of the late Frank S. Dangora Sr. and Phyllis Cuddy Dangora of Cohasset and John M. McSweeney Sr. and MaryJane Wells McSweeney of Hyannis. Mr. McSweeney also leaves many extended family members who meant so much to him.
As it is simply not possible to forget someone of his character, tenacity, and charm, he will be remembered.
A celebration of his life is scheduled for 1p.m. on July 21 at South Shore Baptist Church, 578 Main St., Hingham. After the service, there will be time for friends to pay their respects to Matthew and his family.
