Obituary: Francis Tivnan

Francis Tivnan, at 91
Francis “Frank” G. Tivnan died peacefully on March 20. He was 91.
Mr. Tivnan grew up in Roslindale. He served in the Army during World War II and was stationed in the Philippines. After his military service, he married and raised his family in Hull. 
He was a police officer for the MDC for 12 years before he retired and began his second career working for the U.S. Postal Service. He enjoyed fishing and walking Nantasket Beach, as well as the beaches of Naples, Fla., with his beloved wife Margaret. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret E. (Lydon) Tivnan; loving father of Michael Tivnan and his wife, Kristin, of Hanover; John Tivnan and his wife, Eleanor, of Weymouth; Robert Tivnan and his wife, Haidee, of Hingham; and Margaret Wood and her husband, Douglas, of Hingham. He was the cherished grandfather of Ryan, Jack, Trent, Joanna, Nicole, Brett, and Fiona.
