Obituary: David J. Curtin III
David J. Curtin III, at 64
Hull resident David J. Curtin III died peacefully at home, following a brief illness, on Tuesday. He was 64.
Born in Weymouth, and raised in Hingham, Mr. Curtin – called Zap by many – was a 1972 graduate of Hingham High School and was a self-employed plumber for many years. He had a passion for riding his motorcycle, enjoyed traveling, trying new foods, football, and jet skiing. He was an expert on old movies, and could name the actors and actresses in any title you threw at him. He was a very hard worker, and loved animals of all kinds, especially his own canine companions – Jack, Dakota, Roxie, and Tank.
The greatest joys in his life came from time spent with his family and friends. The beloved husband of 20 years of Sarah T. (Gilbert) Curtin; he was the son of the late David J. Curtin Jr. (Hingham PD) and Dorothy P. (Conti); the loving brother of Mark J. Curtin of Weymouth; devoted uncle of Shannan Hughes and her husband, Chris, and Mark Curtin Jr. and his fiancée, Kate. Mr. Curtin also leaves many friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday, from 4-8 p.m., in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., Hingham. Funeral services and burial will be private.
