Paula K. Norton, at 67
Paula Kay (Maxim) Norton, 67, formerly of Hull, died unexpectedly at her Chestertown, Md., home on Sunday, Nov. 4.
She was born in Kansas City, the daughter of the late Mitchell and Mary Kathleen Elliott Maxim. The family moved to Hull, and Mrs. Norton graduated from Hull High School in 1969.
She went on to the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, majoring in English and graduating magna cum laude in 1973. She worked as a teacher, advertising consultant, and freelance writer until she devoted her life to being a mother. She loved gardening, reading, Bible study, her dog, Jessie, and her Christian faith.
She leaves two sons, Scott Norton, of Stevensville, Md., and Matthew Norton and his wife Meghan and their children, Penelope, William, and Edward, all of Barrington, Ill. In addition, she leaves her sister, Renee Fowler of Bradenton, Fla.; her brother, Craig Maxim, of Whitinsville; and the father of her children, James Norton, of Hull. She was predeceased by a brother, Rick Maxim.
