Robert L. Callaway, at 88
Robert L. Callaway, of Weymouth, 88, died Nov. 12. Originally from Dorchester, Mr. Callaway lived in South Weymouth for 60 years and summered in Hull.
He graduated from Northeastern University with an MBA and a bachelor’s in civil engineering and went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a captain and forward observer. He retired as an executive vice president of operations at Computervision.
He had a love for the ocean, boats, sailing, and gardening. Family was the foundation of all that was important to Mr. Callaway. Beloved husband of 60 years to the late Janet (Heaver) Callaway; he was the devoted father of Susan Pratt, Anne Marie Ohlson, and Barbara Vasile and her husband, Albert. Mr. Callaway was the cherished Grand Bob of Stephen Pratt and his wife Anne, Michael Pratt, Eric Ohlson and Michelle Ohlson; Great-grand Bob of Madeline and George Pratt; loving brother of the late Eunice Flagg and her husband, Charlie. He also is survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family thanks the staff at Queen Anne Nursing Home, Grove Manor Assisted Living, and South Shore Hospital for their compassionate care.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday from 5-7 p.m. in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, 809 Main St., South Weymouth. His funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 a.m. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
