Obituary: Margot M. Isabelle
Margot M. Isabelle, at 84
Margot M. [Thornton] Isabelle of Hull, formerly of Hingham, died March 7. She was 84.
Mrs. Isabelle graduated from Emmanuel College and earned her master’s degree at Simmons College. She worked as a reference librarian at the Hingham Public Library and later retired from the Mass. College of Art Library.
Mrs. Isabelle enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling, and going for walks. She was an active member of the Democratic Party. Her main passion in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Beloved mother of Mark C. Gilbert and his wife, Claire, of Maine, Brian M. Gilbert of Westford, Amy J. Simpson of Lakeville, Katrien R. Nosiglia of Norwell, and Sarah T. Curtin of Hingham; Mrs. Isabelle also was the devoted grandmother of Patrick, Mickaelah, Coleman, Kevin, and Leanne; and great grandmother of Ethan, Allyson, and John.
The caring sister of Kevin M. Thornton and his wife, Collette, of Needham, Lenore Thornton of Cotuit, and the late Suzanne Thornton; she also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 a.m. Cremation will follow.
