John M. Buckler, Jr., at 69
John M. Buckler Jr., of Pembroke, died peacefully – surrounded by his family – on Tuesday, after a long illness. He was 69.
Mr. Buckler was born in Boston, but grew up in Hull. He graduated from Hull High School and the state Police Academy. Mr. Buckler spent more than 30 years working for the Hull Police Department, first as a patrolman, and then finishing his career as a prosecutor. He then went to work in ADS investigations for the Plymouth Country Sheriff’s Department, where he was employed for the past 16 years.
Mr. Buckler is survived by his wife of 35 years, JoAnne; his two children, Jennifer Cartledge and her husband, Stacy, and Jessica Heil. He also leaves a brother, James, and his wife, Mary; a sister, Sharon, and her husband, Michael; and two grandsons, Nicholas and Steven, whom he greatly adored. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Betty Buckler, as well as a brother, Terry.
