Robert B. Smith, at 59
Robert B. Smith Jr., who was known as Bruce, died Dec. 3, at the age of 59. 
Mr. Smith was born and raised in Hingham, where he graduated from Hingham High School and was an avid hockey player. He worked for the town of Hingham for many years in the Parks and Recreation Department. 
Mr. Smith was very athletic and loved to spend time on the beach. He had a great sense of humor and was loved by everyone who met him. He enjoyed spending time with his family. 
He was the beloved son of Robert B. Smith, of Florida, and the late Elizabeth Smith; he was the father of Courtney Smith, of Weymouth, and Christopher Smith, of Scituate. He was the cherished brother of Stacey Sellman and her husband, Steven, of Plymouth; Susan Valley and her husband, Dan, of New Hampshire; Nancy Parker and her husband, Steve, of Pembroke; Amy Smith, of Canton; and Beth Peterson, of Pembroke. He also is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham, on Friday, Dec. 15, from 4-7 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Memorial donations may be made to Father Bill’s Place, Development Office, 422 Washington St., Quincy, MA 02169.
